TIM AND TAMMY SWEENEY

ASSOCIATE PASTOR

Tammy has been the Associate Pastor at Peytonsville Church since 2018. She, and her husband Tim, are relentless pursuers of Jesus Christ. They are servant-hearted people who love Father God and His church.

Tammy grew up in a family that sang and spread the Gospel all over the country. She has been in ministry almost her whole life, serving as a youth leader, worship leader, and administrative assistant. Her passion is to lift up the arms of others and encourage them to seek a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

LISA AND DAVID SKINNER

LEGACY KIDS COORDINATOR

Lisa has been a part of children’s ministries for 35 years as both a volunteer and coordinator. She also served beside her husband, David, as he pastored a church in Florida for 20 years. As a career teacher, she has taught elementary school as well as music and is a mother of five.
Lisa has a heart for children and helping them to go deeper in their walk with the Lord. She believes that children have tender, open hearts that are ready to receive all that God has for them.

KALOB AND KRISTEN OWNBY

YOUTH LEADERS

Kalob and Kristen have a passion for authenticity and equipping others to not only believe what Jesus did on the cross, but to know that we are called to walk forward from the victory on the cross with Jesus to bring Heaven to earth. They believe that this is accomplished by developing the character of the fruits of the Spirit as well as activating the gifts of the Spirit.

They have been working in youth ministry for over 8 years, and feel called to release the next generation to discover their God-given identity and experience the freedom to walk in it.

RAY AND CHELSEA TADENA

YOUTH LEADERS

Ray and Chelsea Tadena are passionate followers of Christ. They have spent over two decades serving the church in various roles – both lay and full-time vocational. They have made it their mission to prepare the church for the return of Christ and to help individuals and families rediscover their God-given identity.

Whether pastorally or administratively, they are dedicated to restoring hearts to wholeness and empowering others to fulfill their life’s purpose. Their ultimate goal is to earnestly yield their lives to the Holy Spirit and establish the Father’s kingdom on earth, and in the hearts of people, as it is in heaven.

PEYTONSVILLE CHURCH VALUES

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Jesus Christ: Is Our Message
Jesus Christ is our love and our message. Religious trends may come and go, yet our devotion to the power of the gospel remains steadfast. Our forever-focus is the Centrality of Jesus and the Cross of Calvary!

Passion: Is Our Pursuit
We believe it’s impossible to follow Jesus and not be passionate about what He loves. Passion drives us. Passion for God. Passion for the unsaved. Passion for the church. And most important, passion to know Christ.

The Holy Spirit: Is Our Guide
We acknowledge the Deity of the Godhead and embrace the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity. He is our instructor, comforter, intercessor, and our guide to Jesus. The Holy Spirit helps us do amazing things and empowers us to live a supernatural life.

Excellence: Is Our Motivation
We are committed to do the best with what we have. We don’t like to do things half-way or half-hearted. If it’s for God, we believe it should carry the spirit of excellence! We refuse to entertain a “just good enough” attitude.

People: Are Our Heart
Our heart is for all people, regardless of race, creed, or culture. We desire to be a home for believers and a place of refuge for seekers. Despite your past or social status, you are welcome with us and can “come as you are.”

Servanthood: Is Our Identity
The greatest act of spirituality is serving others. If you’re too big to serve in our church, you might be too small to lead. From the pulpit, to the nursery, we strive to be servant-leaders. We believe the Church is most healthy when humble hearts lead.

Honor: Is Our Privilege
We are an Honor-driven church. To honor our leaders is required – to honor to our peers is preferred – to honor those less gifted is divine. We believe Christ-likeness is measured by our willingness to celebrate the unique difference of others.

Generosity: Is Our Delight
Generosity is a privilege, not a duty. We don’t have to give, we get to give! We believe generosity is “freedom from smallness” that gives more than is required. We are a church determined to conquer the spirit of poverty with acts of generosity.

Faith: Is Our Lifestyle
Faith is spelled R-I-S-K at our church. We boldly contend for unfulfilled promises and take daring risk to help people embrace their destiny. We believe that reckless faith brings unprecedented blessing and activates times of refreshing from the Presence of the Lord.

Spiritual Gifts: Is Our Desire
“Mere religion” is trying to live the Christian life without experiencing the power of God. For this reason, we strongly desire and embrace the gifts of the Spirit. We welcome all expressions of supernatural power that are authentic and Biblical.

Spiritual Fruit: Is our Objective
God’s divine nature is defined in Scripture as the fruit of the Spirit. These fruits are heavens DNA sown and grown in the soil of redeemed humanity. Spiritual gifts empower our life, spiritual fruit defines our character.

Joy: Is Our Essence
Joy is the infallible sign of God’s presence living in and through a believer. This level of happiness is not merely an emotion or feeling, but a byproduct of being loved and loving others. Our church believes that “spiritual maturity” is measured by what it takes to steal your joy.

Love: Is Our Everything
God’s love is the touchstone of our faith. It is the force of divine optimism and the seed of all miracles. His love is an act of endless forgiveness that brings comfort and healing to a hurting world. We are convinced the power of love never fails and conquers all things.

Worship: Is Our Privilege
Worship is the spiritual current of air that lifts us up into intimacy with God. At every service, we contend for a fresh encounter with Christ though worship. We believe intimacy through praise and worship is the most threatening weapon against the power of darkness.

Kindness: Is Our DNA
Jesus is the kindness person you will ever meet. His love is large, gracious, and gentle. And, once your heart is awakened to this conspiracy of kindness, it’s impossible to return to the emptiness of mere religion. We believe acts of kindness are simply God’s love in motion.

Children: Are Our Future
The hearts and minds of children are blank pages in the book of destiny waiting to be written upon. This means, today’s child is tomorrow’s greatest hope. Our church adores children as gifts from heaven and believe we can change the world for Christ “one child” at a time.

Scripture: Is Our Foundation
The cornerstone of Christianity rests on the fundamental truth of oneness between God and His Word. This means the Scripture is the touchstone for supernatural power and a standard for morality. It is also profitable for doctrine, correction, and instruction in righteousness.

Balance: Is Our Focus
A balanced diet of Word and Spirit is necessary for the spiritual growth of a believer. Without God’s Spirit we dry up, without God’s Word we blow up, with both the Spirit and Word we grow up. Our church is determined to live in the radical middle of God’s Word and Spirit.

Equipping: Is Our Assignment
Equipping the saints is just a “phrase” until someone gives it meaning. This spiritual dynamic doesn’t just happen, it is intentional. Our commission at Peytonsville is to empower the believer to live an overcoming life and to teach the saints to do the work of the ministry.

Prayer: Is Our Mandate
As a church, we are committed to the laws of “sowing and reaping”. We believe the seeds of supernatural harvest are first sown in earnest prayer. Our devotion to prayer helps us plant generous amounts of God-seed that will one day mature into spiritual fruit.
